Our Commitment
The Department of Education & Cultural Development is the heart of the Cheasequah Nation’s mission to heal, educate, and empower our citizens through lifelong learning, cultural restoration, and the reclamation of Indigenous knowledge.
We believe education is a sovereign right. From early childhood to higher learning, from vocational training to ancestral language revival, this department builds pathways for transformation, self-sufficiency, and intergenerational wisdom.
What We Provide
1. K–12 Education Services
Indigenous-centered curriculum taught through Cheasequah values
Tribal history, science, and eco-literacy
Cultural field trips and language immersion experiences
Wellness, emotional literacy, and traditional food education
2. Higher Learning (We Educate University – WEU)
Fully accredited tribal university
Liberal arts, public health, Indigenous law, agriculture, and technology tracks
In-person and remote learning options
Leadership and governance programs for future tribal officials
3. Vocational Training & Certification
Green jobs, herbal medicine, land stewardship, and digital literacy
Micro-credentialing and apprenticeship programs for all ages
Workforce readiness for tribal enterprises and regional partnerships
4. Cultural Preservation & Language Revival
Traditional crafts, ceremonies, and clan-based wisdom circles
Guale, Cherokee, and hybrid dialect language programs
Oral history archiving and ancestral name restoration initiatives
