Department Overview
The Department of Administrative & Strategic Planning serves as the backbone of the Cheasequah Nation’s governance operations. Its purpose is to manage the flow of internal processes, coordinate strategic initiatives, maintain institutional continuity, and ensure transparency and accountability across all departments. Rooted in traditional leadership principles and guided by data-driven planning, this department plays a vital role in realizing the Nation’s long-term vision.
Core Functions & Responsibilities
1. Organizational Development & Governance Oversight
Development and enforcement of interdepartmental standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Implementation of administrative policies across executive, judicial, and diplomatic offices
Coordination of leadership calendars, internal reporting deadlines, and interagency reviews
2. Strategic Planning & Nation Building
Five-year and ten-year strategic planning facilitation
Community-driven planning sessions and citizen engagement strategies
Monitoring KPIs for education, economic growth, justice, and sustainability
Annual departmental and council retreats for alignment and visioning
3. Grant & Resource Management
Identification and acquisition of federal, tribal, philanthropic, and private sector funding
Management of grant cycles, performance metrics, and compliance reporting
Support for department-specific grant writers and partnership managers
4. Records, Data, and Performance Tracking
Archiving of tribal resolutions, treaties, and executive directives
Data management platforms for community health, enrollment, and infrastructure
Annual performance reports and transparency dashboards
5. Human Resource & Capacity Building
Recruitment, onboarding, and personnel policy development
Training for tribal employees in leadership, ethics, cultural protocols, and strategic operations
Support for intergenerational workforce development through apprenticeships and internships
